Gaining experience for so many years, we have succeeded in reaching the highest level standards. Superb quality has brought us numerous certificates and awards.

Accreditation

On 18th May, 2012 Damian Hospital was granted an Accreditation Certificate by the Centre for Quality Supervision in Health Systems. We have met all the accreditation standards in 89%, which ranks us third in Poland (as of 30th July, 2012). Accreditation is a system which ensures that services are provided at the highest medical and safety standards.

What is accreditation?

Accreditation is the most commonly recognized and most effective external quality assurance method. In modern health systems it is used to supervise areas that highly affect the quality of services and safety of patients. These areas are assessed with criteria for medical care facilities of certain type, such as hospitals, outpatient facilities or long-term care facilities, known as accreditation standards. These may be dynamic and change from time to time, depending on the pace of bringing expected results. Thus, the main assumption of accreditation, which is to constantly stimulate to reach optimum level determined by the accreditation standards, is met. Every time standard requirements must be very high but still achievable.

The most valuable aspect of the accreditation system is providing any facility, such as a hospital, with an opportunity to self assess by comparing to best practices which are explicitly accreditation standards. Having identified in this way your own weaknesses, you may try to find ways to improve processes in your facility.
