Urinary incontinence

Urinary incontinence is a shameful subject, thus often not mentioned. Stress incontinence is usually due to weakening of pelvic floor muscles and vaginal stretching, what leads to change of urethral angle. There exist two types of stress incontinence, often concomittant: anatomical (excessive mobility of urethra and urinary bladder), sphincteric (weakening of a sphincter muscle).

Laser MonaLIsaTouch™ urinary incontinence treatment method is a photothermal, non-ablative shrinking of the vagina. Laser firms vaginal wall, pelvic fascia and urethra orifice area. Laser beam stimulates mucosal collagen fibres what leads to their multiplication and enhancement. Next shrinking of the tissues occur leading to urethral angle decrease and restoration of it’s normal function.

Rehabilitation after childbirth

Natural childbirth, especially subsequent one, may lead to vaginal tissues loosening (vaginal relaxation syndrome) This may decrease sexual satisfaction. Sometimes after birth urinary bladder tends to fail and a young mum has problems with holding urine.

Advances and safety of laser procedures make them very popular.

The procedure with MonaLisaTouch™ laser, considered to be one of the most effective and safest, helps restoring vaginal elasticity, decreasing it’s size and increasing lubrication. Laser energy heats vaginal mucosa and collagen contained in it’s tissues. Due to high temperature collagen fibres constrict and new fibres develop, what stimulates vaginal self-regeneration. Vagina becomes tighter and more flexible.

The procedure is completely painless.

Menopause is a period when genital organs of women become older. It is related to the decrease in oestrogen. Even 50% of postmenopausal women complain about typical symptoms of genital organs atrophy, such as: vaginal dryness, pain during sexual intercourse, irritation manifesting itself with itching and burning, stress incontinence, vaginal relaxation syndrome. Those symptoms decrease sexual experience and satisfaction, decrease quality of life and psychological well-being.

MonaLisaTouch™ procedure provides vaginal shrinking, mucosal reconstruction and reduction of urinary incontinence problem without surgical intervention. Controlled laser energy is delivered into vaginal canal and vaginal orifice area. It “heats” vaginal tissues, leading to collagen constriction and shrinking and decreasing of exposed vaginal mucosa. It becomes tighter and more flexible.

Aesthetic correction of external genital organs

Too big and unsymmetrical labia is a frequent problem for women and could be the reason of many complaints related to daily activities, doing sport or sexual activity. Corrective medicine procedures performed by laser are becoming more and more popular.

Procedures with MonaLisaTouch™ laser have relatively better results than those with a scalpel. Laser stimulates tissue coagulation and there is no bleeding. It decreases the risk of scars, reduces the swelling and discomfort after the procedure and significantly reduces the recovery period. Laser not only models external genital organs but also increases tightness and flexibility of the tissue by stimulating collagen production.

This procedure is performed in very young as well as mature women. Restoring genital area aesthetic influences the patient’s well-being and self-evaluation. Physiological and functional factors are equally important for women and improve their comfort of life.

About MonaLisaTouch procedures

Corrective procedures with MonaLisaTouch™ laser are performed with a special end with a scanner which is introduced inside the vagina. Laser acts directly on the walls of the vagina or labia. So called photothermal, non-ablative constriction and shrinking of the vagina occurs. Due to the laser action, stimulation of mucosal collagen occurs. Vagina becomes more flexible and tighter. Thanks to walls reconstruction, functionality and aesthetics of vagina from the period before the menopause is restored, moisture level is increased. The procedure treats the problem of stress urinary incontinence too. As a result, the patient feels a significant improvement in the quality of life.

The procedures do not require preparation, a consultation with a gynaecologist and a valid cytology test are enough. They are completely painless and last just a few minutes. Three days after the procedure the patient can come back to usual sexual activity.

Individual needs of a patient influence the number of conducted procedures. Sometimes one procedure is enough to achieve a desired effect. In other cases, the procedure should be repeated from 2 to 4 times with the interval of 2 to 4 weeks.
