On 5 and 6 November 2015 Damian Medical Centre was evaluated externally by the experts from the Centre for Monitoring the Quality of Health Care from Krakow to assess the degree of implementation of new accreditation standards. Receiving a positive evaluation from the experts was proceeded by a two-day visit during which the building of the centre was scrutinised as well as archive and current documentation in the wards and in the departments. The result of the accreditation visit to Damian Medical Centre by a group of independent experts and after comprehensive evaluation regarding standard requirements was preparation of a report in which Damian Medical Centre was positively assessed and received a status of accredited hospital. Our centre met 94% of accreditation standards, which gives us the third result among all accredited hospitals in Poland (updated information from 20 November 2015).

Damian Medical Centre employees value the keeping of the highest standards of treatment and respecting the patients’ rights and their dignity.

The Damian Hospital was included on the WHO map presenting hospitals participating in the programme of Surgical Safety Checklist implementation.

Surgical Safety Checklist was prepared by WHO as part of an initiative Safe Surgery Saves Lives, a part of World Alliance for Patient Safety Programme.

The aim of the programme is improving the medical safety of the patients during the operation. Preparation of the Checklist enabled to identify surgical safety criteria for all countries and health care units.

Implementation of Surgical Safety Checklist doubled the possibility of keeping the right standard of surgical treatment.
The presence of the Damian Hospital on the WHO's map is a great honour and proof that the quality of provided medical services meets the highest global safety requirements.
