Otoacoustic emissions - hearing test

Publication date: 26.08.2019

Otoacoustic emission – examination enabling assessment of external auditory cells function (those cells are located in a cochlea, that means in the inner ear). Otoacoustic emission examination should be proceeded by tympanogram 3D, as in case of middle ear abnormalities otoacoustic emission results will be incorrect. Otoacoustic emission examination is performed in newborns and small children to tentatively assessment of auditory cells work, and in adults in case of objective assessment of external factors influence, including sudden deafness, noise and drugs intake.
