Screening genetic tests for COVID-19

With autumn fully underway and winter just around the corner, we are bracing up for the annual flu season, which will cause a lot of people to suffer from such symptoms as fever, coughing or sore throat – all of which may easily be mistaken for the symptoms produced by coronavirus.

As a result, it will be increasingly important to provide both individuals and company employees with greater access to testing methods for COVID-19. Our country still has a relatively low access to testing for COVID-19. How then can we fight the epidemic when the primary way of harnessing the virus is to track down and isolate the infected?

Molecular screening test FRANKD

This question is addressed by mobile laboratories which offer quick and prescription-free screening tests for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. On the 1st of October, special diagnostic tents will be put up in the biggest Polish cities, including Warszawa, Łódź, Wrocław, Kraków, Poznań, Lublin and Gdańsk. All the procedures are performed under safe conditions, with the Patient arriving for the swab at a specific hour and receiving the results as early as on the following day.

The test is performed using the FRANKD method. It is a genetic screening test that offers a new, quick and effective method for detecting the SARS-CoV-2 virus, developed by Polish scientists from the GeneMe laboratory. The tests are CE- and IVD-certified, and comply with WHO guidelines. A positive result of the FRANKD screening test is confirmed by the genetic RT-PCR test (without the Patient incurring any additional costs of the test), and the analysis is carried out using the material collected during the screening test. As a result, there is no need for the Patient to have another appointment.

The basic tool in combatting the coronavirus is performing test to detect it.

What makes molecular screening tests stand out?

Convenience

CONVENIENCE
They offer an opportunity to test even a few hundred individuals at a time.

compliance with guidelines

COMPLIANCE WITH GUIDELINES
The tests are CE- and IVD-certified, comply with WHO guidelines, and detect the genetic material of the virus.

quickness

QUICKNESS
The results are available as soon as on the following working day.

reliability

RELIABILITY
The test was developed by Polish scientists from the GeneMe laboratory, which is the leading player on the market in the field of genetic testing.

accuracy

ACCURACY
The FRANKD molecular test has a specificity level of 100% and sensitivity of 97%.

The FRANKD molecular screening test uses the patented polymerase enzyme and detects the RNA of the SARS-CoV-2 virus through isothermal amplification of nucleic acids, without the need to use changing temperature cycles. It is a genetic test conducted at a constant temperature, contrary to the standard PCR tests. This means a considerable reduction of the test duration and the waiting time for the result.

The primary material for the test is the pharyngeal swab.

How and where can the test be done?

The tests will be done in mobile collection points in different cities across the country. The test is offered for both individuals and companies wishing to take care of the safety of their employees. Access to quick and precise diagnostics is also crucial for economic reasons – in the context of avoiding another lockdown or downtime in companies’ operation due to employees’ quarantine, or the necessary closure of the working establishments, production lines, schools or other facilities for this period.

The tests are available at the following centres:

  • Gdańsk, plac Dwóch Miast 1,
  • Poznań, Górecka 30,
  • Wrocław, Powstańców Śląskich 7a,
  • Kraków, Jasnogórska 1,
  • Lublin, Konrada Wallenroda 4 c,
  • Łódź, Al. E. Rydza-Śmigłego 20,
  • Mysłowice, Bernarda Świerczyny 1
  • Warszawa, al. Rzeczypospolitej 5 (available soon).

The collection points will be open from Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 16:00.

Tests for individuals

Before arriving at the collection point, it is necessary to schedule the test for a specific hour. You can do it quickly and conveniently ONLINE or by calling the following number: +48 22 566 22 22. As a result, you will avoid having to wait in a queue and contact other patients – who are the potential carriers of the virus.

 Screening genetic tests for COVID-19

You can also pay for the test ONLINE or by calling  +48 22 566 22 22, where the hotline consultant will help you make the payment. This will help to minimise the physical contact with other individuals during the test. The price of the test is PLN 250.

Collection Point Nowolipie 18

The genetic FRANKD test can also be done at the Collection Point Nowolipie 18. The collection point may be attended by healthy individuals without symptoms, who have not had any contact with a COVID-19 infected person.

To do the test, it is necessary to purchase it online at www.medistore.com.pl and schedule the specific hour for the test. For sanitary reasons, it is not possible to pay for the test on the spot. As you arrive, you must only present the confirmation of your purchase. We will call you the day before to confirm your booking.
