Yellow fever is a disease spread by some types of mosquitoes in tropical area. The vaccination is taken every 10 years. Full protection is achieved after 10 days.
After 10 days from the date of the vaccine, the patient gets an entry into the international “yellow book” which constitutes a confirmation of immunization against yellow fever. The Book is given out in Travel Medicine Centre of Damian Medical Centre.
- Vaccine against yellow fever is obligatory in chosen countries of Central Africa and South America.
- Yellow fever vaccine is recommended for people travelling abroad, according to the requirements of the country of destination, in accordance to International Health Regulations. It is usually related to African and South America countries.
- Yellow fever vaccine is recommended on professional positions in areas where people still get yellow fever, if the regulations of the country say so.
